And Rear Wheel Drive Trucks. I went snow drifting with my brother in an empty parking lot. I may just make him a gearhead.

Dammit snow, get to Utah already!

Ya, what he said! Utah You listening?

NY would like some of that. Especially now that I've got my skis.

Did this CRV drift with you as well?
![]() 12/22/2014 at 18:47 |

It tried to. Too many electronic nannies to do it as well as I did

Trucks are the best drift cars.

Rangers are so much fun to drift. When they break loose (which they do easily) they'll slide for days if you can let them. Mine's almost easier to just spin out than actually fight for control.

Indeed

It was an ungodly amount of fun

My fathers Tacoma for example, is brilliant in beach sand.
PS: Don't tell my father.

I'd imagine the body roll would be AHCHHGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Any chassis stiffening mods in mind?

LSD? I can't remember if you could even get one in those years or not. I'm assuming it's a 7.25 axle, although it could be an 8.8 since it's a 4.0

^Your truck in that picture

It needs to snow here, need to catch some slides in the Safari.

coil overs at some point
![]() 12/22/2014 at 19:58 |

8.8 with an LSD and 3.55 gears
![]() 12/22/2014 at 20:03 |

Just wondering, What made you want coils?
Cheap coils are shit, trust me. They're loud, and make your ride harsh as shit.

Agreed.

Ahh. Lucky! I've got a non LSD with 4.10's

Well my front springs are too soft and vibrate at highway speeds. I need something stiffer, at least up front
![]() 12/22/2014 at 21:43 |

Mind the poles!

I'd say higher quality struts or shocks would do the trick. Cheap coilovers rattle a bunch and make the ride some ass. Not to mention that they are cheaper.
Get some Mustang wheels though :P

I have 14" wheels on there, I need to up the wheels to 17"ers. For handling
![]() 12/23/2014 at 08:23 |

Don't know about them improving handling much, the Aesthetic aspect would be the biggest factor.

Your tires are probably fine with how little grip you probably had. It's not like you were doing donuts in the dry. Did they even smoke?
![]() 12/23/2014 at 10:34 |

Vibration shouldn't have anything to do with your struts or springs. If it's vibrating on the highway, it's more likely the wheel balance or hub bearing.

It can be done. The big thing that's keeping it from handling is the ride height, suspension, and chassis rigidity (trucks are designed to flex because loads). Lower it, find a way to get rid of the leaf-springs in the back, and build a cage to make it stronger. Weight savings could include pulling the bed if you can live without it.

The bearings were replaced right before I bought it. The front suspension on theses trucks were designed by idiots. The design is just crap

They might have smoked, I dont know I wasnt paying attention. I noticed some leaking sealant near the bead. It definitely came loose. Also, I have Uniroyal Tigerpaw GTS tires, they are really crappy tires
